Words we use
Tellipod has a few words of its own. Here's what each one means, in plain language.
-
Pod
A private space for one part of your life, like caring for a parent, looking after a pet or dealing with your bank. It can be just for you, shared with people in your life, or shared with an organization you deal with. Only its members can open it.
For example: Ginger's Care, Mom's Apartment, or Family Passports & Travel Docs.
-
Member
A person or organization invited to a pod. Every member keeps a full, encrypted copy of the pod on their own device.
For example: you, your sister and the dog sitter in Ginger's Care.
-
Tool
Something you add to a pod to work with its info, like a form, a checklist, a calendar or a medication tracker.
For example: the medication tracker that shows when Ginger had her last dose.
-
Service
An optional helper that runs outside your devices, like backups or an always-on sync node. You choose who runs it, or run it yourself.
For example: an always-on backup, so a lost phone doesn't mean lost pods.
-
Node
Any device or server that holds a copy of a pod and helps it sync. Your phone is a node; so is a home server you run.
For example: your phone, your partner's tablet, or a small server at home.
-
Identity
The keys that prove you're you, created on your device and held by you. Nobody issues them, so nobody can take them away.
For example: the key on your phone that lets you join Mom's Apartment.
-
Telli
The pod's assistant. It answers questions about what's in the pod and suggests info to add, on your device or on your own server.
For example: ask "When was Ginger's last dose?" and Telli finds it in the pod.
